Student Houses in Headingley
So, you've already made the decision to study at one of Leeds' thriving Universities and by the time you're looking for student houses you've most probably got well underway with your first year of the course, experienced at least some of what this fantastic city has to offer and of course, met some really interesting people along the way.
That's when the hard part begins...
You’ve got your group sorted, you know how big your house needs to be, you know how much you're looking to spend on rent and all the thing's you don't want your property to have: what you don't know is where exactly you'd like to live.
Finding the right house in the right location really can define your experience of student life away from halls.
Certain areas remain ever popular with the student population and whilst some students choose to live close to the city centre, others tend to choose areas close to their university.
Headingley and Hyde Park remain the most popular areas and clearly have the largest student populations.
Headingley is crammed with independent boutiques, gift shops, vintage emporiums, supermarkets, charity shops and bakeries, not to mention countless bars and cafes catering to every taste and budget.
It's also home to the infamous Otley Run. The now legendary pub crawl begins in Headingley and ends – if you make it – at the Dry Dock just outside the Leeds Beckett Campus. Fancy dress and a mid-point meal are both very much encouraged.
Sports fans need not be disappointed as Headingley is the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos rugby league team and the Yorkshire Carnegie rugby union team.
Headingley is very accesible for students studying at all three universities. All, including the city centre can be reached by a train service and a number of very frequent bus services.
